A wave of nostalgia came over me when I spotted this project by design student Johanna Asseraf. When tasked with the assignment of branding an event, she chose a class party from 1996, when she was eight years old. The entire brand was, amazingly, crafted using Perler Beads, which I had no idea were even made any more.

First of all: Branding for a second grade party in 1996? Brilliant. I fucking love it.
Partially because I have lately been thinking a lot about Lisa Frank and lanyard lately. Partially because I think Perler Beads are awesome and I never had them as a kid even though I really wanted them.
Maybe I’ll buy some. When I go pick up lanyard. And I’ll make coasters for my apartment and really awesome lanyard jewelry. Just you wait.

^ Game rules cards.
